The Maison de la Recherche has been a hub of life and research for the Arts, Letters, Languages and Humanities faculty for the past decade, and celebrated its tenth anniversary at the end of May 2023 with the aptly named 10 Springs Festival.
A convivial, creative and participatory event
A large-scale festival, representative of the Maison de la Recherche, which brings together 300 researchers and staff, 300 doctoral students and 10 laboratories. The ambition? To mark the start of a new era, even more convivial, interdisciplinary and open to society.
Together, the community designed a rich and eclectic program to reflect its image. Here, everyone was invited to participate and reveal their talents. Performances, workshops, exhibitions, theater, music... there was no shortage of opportunities!
Varied research combining the arts and sciences
University students and staff took it in turns to welcome and entertain the public. Available to them: an artistic trail between France and Brazil, dance, animated exhibitions, translation of short films, performances, street and body art, philosophy workshops, dystopian writing, comic book creation, theater and flamenco. Proposals that reflect the varied research carried out at the Maison de la Recherche, blending the arts and sciences in sometimes unexpected ways.

Unique and unusual events took place over the two days of the festival. The public were invited to take part in workshops, and to make the work on show their own. Proof that research is done not just for, but with society! The commitment of artists and researchers was revealed through their works and exhibitions. Finally, it was possible to enjoy a musical end to the day in front of the open music stage that had taken over the Place des Lettres. Traditional Chinese or Neapolitan music, pop, jazz, rap, slam... There was something for everyone!
Commemorating ten years of research
Ten years of research were recognized by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the presence of the President of Aix-Marseille Université and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Letters, Languages and Humanities. A wonderful anniversary that augurs only the best for the future.
