VECT-HORUS: an exclusive licence agreement

VECT-HORUS, a spin-off from the Institut de Neurophysiopathologie (INP, CNRS/AMU) co-founded by Michel Khrestchatisky, CNRS research director and director of INP, has just signed an exclusive agreement with Novo Nordisk, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. At the heart of this agreement is the innovative organ-specific targeting technology developed by the Marseille-based company.

327 million to develop targeted therapeutic products

How can we precisely target organs and provide them with the drugs they need in case of illness? This is the challenge of research conducted by the biotechnology company VECT-HORUS. The company designs and develops vectors that facilitate the targeted delivery of therapeutic molecules and imaging agents to organs, particularly to the brain and to tumours. This innovative technology has led to a landmark $327 million licensing agreement with Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk.

An innovative approach for more effective treatments

The agreement is, of course, subject to the achievement of regulatory and commercial milestones in three confidential programs, but it confirms "the potential of this approach", emphasizes Alexandre Tokay, co-founder and CEO of VECT-HORUS.

From this collaboration, Novo Nordisk and VECT-HORUS both hope for an innovative technology that will enable the development of more effective treatments and lead to improvements in healthcare.
